That’s why general dentistry services from Capitol Dental Care focus on maintaining a healthy smile and promoting continuing oral health for generations.

  • Dental Crowns
  • Porcelain Inlays and Onlays

Prevention is Key

Prevention is a big part of our general dentistry services. We strive to eliminate plaque and tartar buildup, keeping your teeth clean and warding off decay. Plaque is a sticky, clear layer of bacteria that forms on the surface of your enamel, and is a big factor in many common dental problems, including gum disease. Gum disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss in patients over the age of 35, even more than cavities and decay. We’ll pay special attention to your gums during treatment, and even offer periodontal therapy for those who show signs of gum disease.

Our Services

We’ll begin by evaluating your current oral health and using that as a starting point for progress. Whether you’re an established patient or visiting us for the first time, we can create a treatment plan that revolves completely around your individual needs.

When decay has caused a large portion of your tooth to be damaged, and a traditional dental filling is not an option, look to porcelain inlay and onlay restorations. Unlike regular composite fillings, these restorations are crafted of durable porcelain and actually strengthen the structure of the tooth. An inlay fits inside the cusps of the tooth, replacing any removed pulp, while an onlay fits inside and around the cusps.

Crowns are restorations that strengthen the structural integrity of a tooth. If decay has damaged or broken teeth, or you’ve had endodontic therapy, we recommend a crown restoration. Crowns are a “cap” that is cemented over the tooth, taking place of the outer enamel.

Decay can destroy your smile. Stop it before it takes over. After removing the damaged pulp of your tooth, we’ll restore your enamel with a filling. Our dental fillings are made from a tooth-colored composite material that is safe and durable. This is a common restoration that is quick and simple, and will keep your teeth protected from the spread of decay.
